Legacy monolith to cloud-native on Azure
A mid-size professional services firm
Containerising a decade-old .NET monolith, introducing CI/CD and moving it to Azure with a zero-downtime cutover.
DevOps & containerisation
We containerise applications, automate build, test and deploy pipelines, put infrastructure into code and add the monitoring your team needs, so shipping software stops being a weekend event.
What we build
Typical pieces of work in this area. Most engagements combine several of them.
Small multi-stage images that run as non-root users, are scanned for vulnerabilities and rebuild reproducibly.
GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps pipelines with linting, tests, preview environments and gated production releases.
Terraform or Bicep modules with remote state, plan output reviewed on every pull request and scheduled drift detection.
Deployments, ingress, autoscaling and Helm charts on EKS or AKS, kept no more complicated than your team can run.
Structured logs, metrics and traces with OpenTelemetry, dashboards in Grafana or Azure Monitor and alerts that link to a runbook.
Blue/green and canary deployments, feature flags and automatic rollback when health checks fail.
Dependency scanning, signed images, short-lived cloud credentials through OIDC and secrets kept in a vault, never in the repository.
How we work
Week 1
Map how code gets from a laptop to production today, and where it hurts most.
Weeks 1–3
Automate the most painful manual step first, usually builds and tests.
Iterative
Build the full pipeline and move infrastructure into code, one environment at a time.
Go-live
Add logs, metrics, traces and alerts, then run a game day to test them.
Handover
Pair with your engineers so the team runs and improves the setup without us.
Proven, well-supported tools, chosen for your context rather than for novelty.
Outcomes depend on your starting point; we agree success measures with you up front.

FAQ
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Ask us directly. We’re happy to talk it through.
Often not. Many teams are better served by managed platforms such as ECS Fargate, Azure Container Apps or App Service. We recommend Kubernetes when you run many services, have specific scheduling needs or have a team ready to operate it.
Both are capable. GitHub Actions suits teams already on GitHub; Azure DevOps suits organisations with existing boards, test plans and Microsoft governance. We can also migrate pipelines from Jenkins or other tools.
That is the way we prefer to work. We pair with your engineers, review changes together and leave documentation, so the knowledge stays in your team.
Secrets live in AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault or a similar vault, are injected at runtime and never committed to a repository. Pipelines sign in to the cloud with OIDC federation instead of long-lived keys wherever the platform supports it.
A short, fixed-scope engagement works well: we baseline your current process, build the pipeline for one representative service, document it and show your team how to apply it to the rest.
